Weekend links

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. I had a fabulous week camping at the beach with family and friends. It’s always one of my favorite times of year.

Tomorrow begins another exciting week, on the blog, that is. All of us at Simple Living Media will be kicking off our Home for the Holidays week full of three great giveaways on each channel, along with some other festive surprises. Check back here tomorrow for our first Simple Homemade giveaway.

And here are a few links to round out your holiday weekend.

I’m not a huge shopper but if you’re looking for deals for CyberMonday, you might be interested in my friend Jessica’s eBooks which are on sale, including Organizing Life as MOMSummer Survival GuideFifty Books to Enjoy with Kids, and A Simpler Season (enter code GOBBLER3 to get $3 of an eBook purchase of $8 or more) over at the Life as MOM store.

And if you’re looking for a great advent resource for your young ones, be sure to check out The Truth in the Tinsel, which is full of easy, fun crafts to celebrate the advent season.

Weekend links {and Sewing School giveaway winner!}

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely fall weekend. I’m thinking of all my readers on the east coast and hoping that recovering from Sandy isn’t too painful or difficult. Here are some inspiring posts I’ve been reading this week.

Congratulations to the winner of our Sewing School giveaway, Holly, who said that the post on tension was the most helpful.

And don’t forget, there’s a bit more time left to snatch up the awesome Healthy Living eBook bundle date deal! Order by Monday, November 5th at 8pm EST.

Day 28: Weekend links

Today is Day 28 of Sewing School.

Whether you go trick-or-treating, to a Harvest Festival or a costume party, dressing up is tons of fun. This Halloween we’re going to get the family dressed up and head to a local pumpkin patch for a candy-free night of fun.

Last year I made Gigi a Minnie Mouse costume and Brody wore an Elmo suit that he wasn’t too sure about. :) I didn’t have as much time for making costumes this year but next year I hope to plan early and do something handmade (maybe this?! {swoon}).

We’ll be an odd bunch this year– a cowboy (Brody), a Chargers cheerleader and player (Gigi and me), a bumble bee (little Hallee)… and not sure what Daddy will be dressed up as yet.

Thinking of sewing a last-minute costume? Here are some festive links to get your creative sewing juices flowing. Each one of these has tons of handmade ideas, some more elaborate than others.
