It’s that time again… the last Friday of the month means our linky where you can showcase some of the fun things that you’ve taken from your pinboards to reality! For me, July has been all about getting outside, enjoying the sunshine, friends and family. So, not surprisingly, I haven’t tackled a lot of my to-do list.
I did one fun little project… or rather, David did it for me.
And I did try some new recipes, this month as well!
My new driftwood necklace holder
Inspired by this pin, from a post on my sister blog, Simple Design, I finally got around to making my much needed necklace holder. No longer to be curled up on my dresser, my necklaces can now hang freely from this cool piece of driftwood.
The particularly special thing about this piece of wood is that I found it on a favorite local beach (pictured above) on the night David and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary (awww). I love the simplicity of this necklace holder and that it’s one more way that I’m bringing the outdoors in.
David simply hammered the nails in while I cooked dinner– it was such an easy project once we got to it. On the back he used regular picture hanging hardware (the claw kind) because he couldn’t find two D-rings in his toolbox. For the full tutorial, be sure to visit Simple Design.
Organizing my inspiration
I recently decided to get my boards a bit more in order… so I created two new boards to keep track of things I’ve made and done, Made and Did and Cooked, Baked and Enjoyed. So feel free to peruse those boards as I add to them with the projects I’ve completed. I won’t move every idea there after I use it since some of my boards are more specifically themed, but for food and generic projects, I think this will help me keep track of things even better. My goal is to go through and comment on the pins I’ve done eventually with a couple of notes for future reference.
Do you move pins after you actually do things? What new boards have you started recently? I look forward to seeing what ideas and projects get linked up this month!

I am actually thinking about re-doing my Christmas board today, trying to think if I want to start a new one for 2012, or just delete what didn’t work from last year, and add more stuff. I was inspired by Kara’s holiday kids gift craft along at simple kids
You know I love hearing that
I’ll have to check out your Christmas board, Heather. I’m cruising for inspiration this week, for sure
I love how that turned out, Nicole
And, I think I like the idea of creating boards on Pinterest to show what you’ve already done. Good thinking!
I decided to move pins after I’ve tried them. Surprisingly, several recipes I was really excited about weren’t as awesome as I thought. But at least now I know!
I did a bunch of pinterest projects this month but didn’t blog any of them (we just moved, so it’s been a busy month!). I’ll definitely be joining in during August! Love all the projects!
I like the idea behind using nature made necklace holders, may make one for my wife
