From Pinterest to Real Life: March 2013

Hello fellow pinners & crafters! It’s that time again, where we showcase how we’ve taken our pins from just inspiration to actual creative reality.

I’ve been in the kitchen a lot this month, with our diet shift in full swing, but I did want to share one fun project I made a bit of time for with you. This even counts as an Attack the Craft Stash post as well, because I used up items I already had to do it: double win!

Seashell tealight candles

I just love this project that I pinned from Design*Sponge a few weeks ago. Their tutorial was easy to follow and full of much prettier photos that weren’t taken at 9:45 at night. ;)

It was an easy, if a bit messy, project that I made in no more than a half an hour, with tealights that I still have leftover from my wedding when we bought a ginormous bag of them at Ikea.

Add to that seashells found at the beach, of which we always have a plethora, and that was that! My “new” shell candles will be a great outdoor decoration when we starting eating outside more.

Check Instagram for the hashtag #pinteresttoreallife to see more creations.

What have you been creating with your pins lately?

Comments

  1. I love those candles! I will need to collect more shells. Mine always get squirreled away by little hands. ;)

  2. Your shell candles are great! They make me long for a day at the beach but the weather is finally getting good enough where I am that maybe I can at least take the kids to go looking for shells.

I tried to add my own project from this month to the link-up (#3 – the tv frame) but was trying to do too many things at once and put my name instead of the blog title in – is there anyway you could delete it so I can re-add or edit? I’m sorry about that!

  3. Seashell tealight candles? 10 points for creativity!
